Adult Classes are for people 16 years and over wanting to learn, relax and have quiet time away from children.

Children's Classes are run in the school holidays and are just for kids wanting to have a go at a craft. We give a guide age range to help you decide if the class is suitable for your child. It is only a guide, you may feel your child can engage and benefit from a class outside of their age range.

Family Classes are for an adult and child(ren) to join in crafting together. We ask 1 adult to max 3 children please.

We will be starting a monthly emailed news letter with lots of info about everything that goes on at Ladybird Craft Centre including events, workshops and offers on food and craft, start date of news letter to be announced.

We will NEVER share your contact details with third parties. If you want to be removed from the craft class list or the news letter please just ask, it may take up to 2 weeks to remove you.

We offer a range different craft workshops, some are one offs, others are  6 week courses, whatever you fancy trying we have something for you.

For the most up to date info on workshops please either pop into the shop or visit our Facebook page. All workshops are suitable for beginners unless stated otherwise. Workshop prices include tuition, use of equipment and all materials unless stated otherwise.

Currently the workshops we offer are:

Clay work: Learn to hand build with clay using easy techniques and tools to get great results. You'll make your unique piece and paint it before leaving to be fired twice. Most clay work takes one month to be fired.


Pottery Painting techniques: There is lots to learn about painting and even more tools that can help create a beautiful master piece. Some of the techniques we teach are silkscreens on pottery, Moorcroft style painting,

Decoupage- onto glassware, slate or wood,

 Furniture up cycling,

 Potters Wheel- one to one sessions,

 Rag Rugging,

Folk Art or One Stroke Painting,

Card Making.



Craft workshops for Adults September to November 2021.


10.9.21 Fri 2-4pm Autumn Decoupage a Wine Glassto use as a tea light holder. Using napkins and acrylic to get great results on glass, wood and slate, Deb will guide you through all the steps. £12
13.9.21 Mon 11am to 3pm Floating Autumn Tea cups and decoupage plaque. During this class you’ll make both a floating tea cup and saucer with autumn theme and a cup and to allow drying time, you’ll also make a decoupage plaque to hang in your home. All materials included; hot glue gun will be used during this class. £20
15.9.21 Wed 1pm-3pm. Folk Art, learn to paint step by step Daisys on a trinket box. Irene will guide you through applying the paint to the brush, then each stoke to build a flower. Suitable for complete beginners. £14
16.9.21 Thurs 1pm to 4pm Decoupage on Demi Johns. These Demi Johns have a small hole in the bottom to thread battery lights into, to aluminate your decorations. Ideal as an outdoor lantern on an Autumns evening. £26
18.9.21 Sat 2.30pm to 4.30pm Decoupage a wooden item. Using napkins and acrylic to get great results on wood, Deb will guide you through all the steps on background painting, applying the napkin and blending the paint around the picture. £17
23.9.21 Thurs 1.30pm to 4pm Explore with a paint pour. Paint pouring is great fun an so easy, amazing results every time. £18
24.9.21 Fri 12noon to 4pm Pottery painting sheep plate. Using stencils you’ll draw a sheep, outline with wax resist, then use specialist paint to creative a cobblestone effect on the sheep and different paint to achieve puffy clouds. £20
28.9.21 Tue 10am-12.30pm Mindful Painting with acrylics on canvas board. Enjoy a relaxing session where you ‘colour in’ a picture and make it as simple or complex as you want. £13
1.10.21 Fri 11.30am to 3.30pm Moorcroft Style Pottery painting. You’ll choose a design and stencil onto a pottery dish. Then using slip clay you’ll pipe around the outline of the design and leave to dry. After a break you’ll flood fill the design with paint and leave to be fired twice, allow 2 weeks for firing. £22
2.10.21 to 16.10.21 Sat 9.45am to 11.45am Beginner’s Crochet, 3 week course. This course is for complete beginners, from getting the yarn on the hook to completing a small item. If there’s enough interest we’ll add in a regular crochet group to continue the learning and the encouragement. £45 for the whole course
8.10.21 Fri 11.30-4pm Decoupage a large glass vase. You’ll learn the best way to apply napkins and paint to glassware. To allow for drying time, you’ll break in the middle of the class for lunch, which is included in the price. £29
14.10.21 Thurs 1.30pm – 3.30pm Decoupage a wooden item. This class you’ll also use chalk paint to get a great finish on the wood. £17
15.10.21 Fri 1-4pm 3D clay tiles. A great class for those using clay for the first time as you’ll learn how to handle and cut the clay and how to attach clay to clay. You’ll also paint your tile during the class and leave to be fired, allow one month for the 2 firings. £16
23.10.21 Sat 10am to 4pm Ceramic Christmas Wreath or table centre piece. You’ll make a clay wreath or centre piece from scratch. Using cookie cutters and stencils you’ll make all the elements, then attach to the main piece and break for lunch, which is included in the price. In the afternoon you’ll paint your wreath or centre piece and leave to be fired twice. Allow 1 month for items to be fired. £49 includes lunch
